Project #10289 - Analytic Algebra

write up to 3 paragraphs that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

There are various methods of solving quadratic equations.

1. Explain which you think are the easiest and most difficult of the methods, and explain why.Use an example of a quadratic equation and how to solve quadratic equations, with 2 different methods to back up your argument.

2. Explore and find a real-world application of a quadratic equation, whether it is from the realm of physics, finance, or any other field. Write a paragraph about what you find. In your description, show the equation. explain what the variable represents in real terms. describe what the equation models in real terms.

3. When solving the quadratic equation x2 - 8x + 12 = 0, the solutions are x = 2 and x = 6. If you examine the quadratic function y = x2 - 8x +12, how can you use the solution of the corresponding quadratic equation to determine the x-intercepts of the quadratic function?
