Project #105757 - Healthcare Management

I need each question answered separately using the book(that I will upload), with each response being at least 225 words. For question 3 and 6 I need you to use the following link to answer the question. My Email is reddudecatdog@yahoo.com

Q1: Being a hospital or clinic board member these days is a great big responsibility. The membership has perhaps become a more crucial role for the community than ever before. Summarize the key functions of the governing board in modern healthcare. Would you yourself like to serve on a hospital board someday? Why, or why not

Q2: What is meant by “modeling” in healthcare leadership? Sharp Healthcare has come up with quite a list of “employee behavior standards,” as they call them. Briefly summarize these, and offer your own opinion on them. If you were creating this list for your own organization, would you add any items? Would you remove any items from the list?

Q3: How are successful hospital boards becoming more involved in strategic planning for their facilities? Select any one of the hospitals described in the article, and summarize the board’s involvement in establishing its strategic direction.

Q4: We see modern hospitals moving in two different directions with their mission statements these days. One school of thought is based upon “excellence in patient care,” and the other is based upon “healthiest possible community.” Consider that you are now the CEO of a brand new 250-bed community hospital in the Midwest. In preparing the mission statement for your new hospital, which approach will you take, and why?

Q5: A major trend in U.S. healthcare is the movement toward evidence-based medicine (EBM). What is your own definition of EBM? As CEO, how would you work to see that EBM is successfully adopted in your own healthcare facility? Where might you expect resistance to EBM to come from in a typical community hospital?

Q6: Efforts to improve the quality of healthcare can be seen everywhere in America these days. You can observe this at your own local healthcare facilities. Americans are justifiably dissatisfied with our healthcare system for many reasons. Case in point, a major initiative of the National Institutes of Health, aimed at improving the measurement of patient reported outcomes in medicine is the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) program. What is the PROMIS intended to accomplish? Do you feel that this approach will ultimately have a significant impact on the quality of American healthcare?
