Project #12127 - Management Science discussion questions

1.     Transshipment and Transportation problems are two linear programming applications discussed in Chapter 6. Please provide a definition of ONE OR THE OTHER (in your own words, of course). If these definitions have already been provided by your peers, please consider responding to any of the following questions instead:

1.) How do the two differ from one another?
2.) As you read the chapter, did you have questions about either? If so, what were they?
3.) As you considered each, did examples from outside our classroom come to mind? If so, please share them.

Please remember that you need not respond to all of the prompts above. Just one will suffice. Also, a value-added response to something your peers have said remains a perfectly acceptable way to earn your participation points for the week.

2.     Shortest-route problems are yet another linear programming application discussed in Chapter 6. Please provide a definition (in your own words, of course). If a good definition has already been provided by one of your peers, please consider responding to any of the following questions instead:

1.) As you read the chapter, did you have questions about the approach? If so, what were they?
2.) As you considered the application, did examples from outside our classroom come to mind? If so, please share them.

Please remember that you need not respond to all of the prompts above. Just one will suffice. Also, a value-added response to something your peers have said remains a perfectly acceptable way to earn your participation points for the week.
