Project #12172 - Microeconomics Presentation

Pick a topic in economics that you find interesting and would like to learn more about.  Prepare a 30 minute presentation on the topic.  Some topics that you can consider are:

·         Role/ history of the Federal Reserve

·         The role of monetary/fiscal policy in the United States

·         The impacts of inflation in the United States and other countries

·         What caused the current financial crisis and what should be done to fix it?

·         What are some of the root causes of the current collapse in housing prices.  What can be done to fix it?

·         The United States has lost a lot of manufacturing jobs.  Can this be turned around?  What would you recommend?

·         What are other countries doing regarding a green energy strategy?  Is it working?  What should the United States do?

These are some topics for consideration.  If you would like to select another topic have your instructor approve it.

Once the topic is selected:

·         Research the topic

·         Provide the class with a summary of your findings

·         Key in on your main points

·         Use principles discussed in class and your research to enhance and support your position.

This may be done in a group or individual assignment.  If it is done by a group the instructor needs to know who is included in the group by the end of the 2nd class.  Be sure to be proactive in beginning to work on this project throughout the course.  Your topic should also be submitted to the instructor by the end of the 2nd week of class.  .
