Project #13523 - Social Theory: Marx/Engels vs. Gage

This is the prompt straight from the professor:
________

Please write an essay of 4-6 pages on one of the topics listed below. Make sure you substantiate your argument, but minimize direct quotes (e.g. refer to the page and paragraph where the argument you present can be found, but do not necessarily quote the text). The paper should be typed, double?spaced, 1inch margins, and courier 10 or equivalent size font.

1 .Compare Marx/Engels’ vs. Gage’s arguments opposing women’s oppression and their approaches for women’s liberation. Address which approach you find more convincing and why.
_________

For the prompt above, I've posted the specific readings by Matilda Joslyn Gage as an attachment. I'm not exactly sure which readings can be used for Karl Marx/Friedrich Engel's arguments but all of the readings you would need can be found in "The Marx-Engels Reader" by Robert C. Tucker. The works by Marx and Engels that we've reviewed in class so far (and can be found in the Reader on the off-chance you have it) were as follows:
1. Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844 by Karl Marx
2. Das Capital volume 1 by Marx
3. Wage Labour and Capital by Marx
4. The Coming Upheaval by Marx
5. Manifesto of the Communist Party by Marx
6. Origins of the Family, Private Property, and the State by Friedrich Engels
7. Letters on Historical Materialism by Engels
8. On the Jewish Question by Marx
9. Contribution to the Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right: Introduction by Marx
