In the final submission, Chapter III, the student will combine the first two papers (Chapter I & Chapter II) and narrow the scope of the discussion to a specific topic. The crime problem may be narrowed for example to prostitution. The student may further define the problem by using additional theories researched. In this example the student may select rational choice theory as part of their discussion. Crimes are largely the consequence of rational choices based on a cost benefit analysis (Cornish & Clark, 1986). The student in Chapter III will summarize his/her work defending the students selected theories with the narrowly selected discipline.
The final paper consisting of Chapter I, II, & III will be in APA format, not more than 13-15 pages of text, excluding title page, abstract and reference page(s).
Students will adjust their abstract with each submission to include new material. Remember an abstract is one page, typed, double spaced with a one inch margin and must be no more than 250 words.
