Project #17598 - Against Immigration Reform

Description of Individual Perspectives on the selected topic

Here, each student is expected to use the material collected through the group exercise above and prepare a Letter to the Editor of an imaginary journal arguing for or against the issue. The final document should not exceed 3 double-spaced pages (font size 12).

Please look up the American Psychological Association's guidelines on how to prepare a letter to the editor. The document containing the guidelines can be found under Course Content in your Webtycho classroom.

Suggestions: Please choose one or at most two arguments to argue your point to the editor. Present a summary of the event/issue. Then, present your arguments for or against along with evidence (you may use external sources for this). Finally, suggest to the editor what course of action you recommend to address the situation.

Grading criteria:

This part of the assignment will be graded using a 100 point scale. In terms of your overall course grade, both parts 1 and 2 of this assignment are worth 20% of the final course grade.

The following criteria will be used in grading the paper.

·         Summary of the event (25%)

·         Presentation of the arguments (50%)

·         Suggested course of action (25%).
