Business Opportunity with Germany:
Write an individual project report analyzing a business opportunity with Germany, drawing on the group presentation you did in Fulda on this topic and additional individual research you have done from primary and secondary sources. You must clearly articulate the product or service design, and an actionable (a) supply chain model, OR (b) branding and customer model. Your report should be of 2000 words. Appropriate headings should be used, and APA references are required. Include up to five supporting data tables and exhibits as appendices to the report.
The report will include:
Part I: Executive Summary (one page)
This should be written at the end, and should summarize the key findings of the report. Note that the executive summary is not what will be read in the report, but it is a summary of key points and their key rationales.
Part II: Proposed Product / Service (one page)
Clearly describe the product or the service. Explain its unique features/ benefits/ need. Explain its design/ technology. Explain its social mindedness.
Part III: Environmental Assessment (one page)
Identify 1-2 major trends each in S (social), T (technological), E (economic), and P (political) environments in France and Germany, and analyze the impact of those trends on your business opportunity.
Part IV: Industry Analysis (one page)
What is the structure of the industry in Germany – what region is of greatest importance, and who are 1-2 major players and what are their characteristics? Conduct a mini TOWS analysis – what is 1 major challenge, what is 1 major opportunity, what is your one major weakness, and what one major strength will you build to overcome that weakness?
Part V: Market Opportunity (one page)
What is the profile of the customer group that you would target (in the US in case of supply chain model, or in Germany in case of branding and customer model)? What are the distinctive psychographics of that group? What are the need gaps for that group? How big is the opportunity?
Part VI: Business Model (one page)
Explain your business model for importing from Germany (supply chain model), OR explain your business model for exporting to Germany (branding and customer model). How will you go about importing/ exporting? What kind of businesses will be your partners, customers, vendors? Explain how you will go about importing or exporting.
Part VII: Cultural factors (one page)
What cultural factors will you pay most attention, and why?
