Project #20272 - urgent help

This paper contains a creative element that requires you to write a story or a play of your own.  With this creative piece, there is a companion document that is explained below.  Both options have you take two (or more) characters from at least two genres (play, poetry, short story) and have them interact.

1.  Create a scenario which places the characters you choose in close proximity with one another and write the story of their meeting.  Here are some examples to help you get started…
a.       The Duke and Montresor meet in a prison therapy group.
b.      The speaker in “Piano” and Emily meet in a grief counseling group.
c.       The speaker from “Digging” and Dee meet at a local farmer’s market / craft show
d.      Minnie Wright and Aunt Jennifer meet at their local quilting bee

2. As a variation on choice #1, have the characters exchange letters or other correspondence with one another.

As a general hint, start with the idea that these characters need to have something to talk about and you must find a reason for them to be interacting at all.  To do this, I highly recommend that you find two characters that have something in common – they learned a lesson, they have a shared experience of some kind, they are similar personalities.  There must be something that puts them in the same place and having something to discuss.  My suggestion is to look to theme.  As you have the characters interact, you must show an understanding of BOTH works and you have to analyze them.  Do not simply rehash the plot of either work.  Dig into exploring the motivations of the characters, their psychological make-up, and what their attitudes and perspectives say about the human condition.

The last paper requires no research and there are only two choices.

General Details
  • Page length will vary depending on the length of your story/play and the format your analysis takes – I usually suggest around 6 pages total
  • Works cited page containing the works used
  • Quotes incorporated
  • 12 point font, double spaced
  • MLA formatting on margins, page numbers, citation, documentation
  • Title
  • In the companion piece, you will show me your mastery of the works and the course content in an informal, casual literary analysis of your own work.  This piece can be in any format, but the content should contain things like...

Symbols in your story – where they are, what kind they are, what they are symbols of
Theme -- tell me what the theme of your story is and why that theme fits these characters
Plot Structure -- where's the climax of your piece and why?
Dramatic Question -- if you write a play, what are the dramatic questions and the crises/climaxes that answer them? Why was that a fitting format for what you wanted to do?
Figures of speech - did you use a metaphor?  Simile?  Personification? Where are they?
Characters -- major, minor, flat, round, static, dynamic
Setting -- which of the three settings are significant in your work?
Irony -- is there any irony in your work?  What kind and where?  What are the two levels of meaning?

You can cover as many terms as you deem pertinent – as long as you do so with detail and mastery.  This is where you will show what you've learned.  The critical thinking and application of terms portion of your grade come from this document, which can be anything from a bulleted list to a running narrative to a letter to me

YOU HAVE TO BE CRITIC TO YOUR OWN WORK ,  I WILL UPLOAD AND EXAMPLE OF A WORK SO YOULL UNDERSTAND (CUSTOMIZE BALLOON)
