Project #20285 - PHP

You are to create a script(s) that allow the user to change the program in which they are enrolled, and thus, the courses in which a student is currently registered. In this database, students are currently enrolled in courses specific to their program and semester (see the document showing course lists by program to view the courses for each of the two programs and the semesters taught).  It should also be noted that courses in semester 1 and 2 of 2090 are the same for 4012. This needs to be taken into account.

Details

  1. The user should initially be presented with a form containing two drop-down lists (one for student number and one for the new program to be transferred to.

                  Student Number:    [drop-down list here]

                  Current Program:   [none changeable value]

                  New Program:         [drop-down list here]

2.   The user will choose a student number from a drop-down list, whereupon your script will then retrieve and re-display the student number with the current program code.

3.   The user will choose a program code from a drop-down list.

4.   Your script will then perform all of the necessary steps to successfully transfer the       student to the new program and the associated courses for the current semester that     the student is enrolled.

For example, this would be the case if a student registers at the start of a semester say, semester 2 of program 2090, and then wishes to transfer say, to semester 2 of program 4012. Do not worry about prerequisite course issues. Just allow for the transfer of a student from one semester of a particular program to the same semester of another program.

5.   Once the student has been successfully moved to another program, your script should       display a list of the courses for the current semester in which the student is enrolled.

***  Ensure that all applicable changes are made to the database ***

Make sure to include the following:

            a)         efficient coding and processing

b)          appropriate error checking as per the assignments

      c)         use “sticky form” concepts where applicable
