After reading "Using Student-Involved Classroom Assessment to Close Achievement Gaps":
1. Summarize five alternative assessment formats.
2. Explain the important features of each type.
 
Write an essay of 750-1,000 words in which you share the above ELP test and article information, and in which you justify why your school should or should not keep the ELP test(s) it currently uses, or move to an alternative.
 
Additionally, address these questions:
Are standardized testing and language proficiency workable methods for monitoring student progress in general? Why or why not?
