Project #24807 - Research Design

The VP of Human Resources of a major global commercial bank is concerned about employee turnover (i.e. resignations) among its approximately 25,000 clerical staff.  The VP seeks to get a better understanding of the characteristics of the employees who are resigning (and in turn, those who are staying) with the view to developing an intervention to reduce turnover.

 

You (a research consultant) are being asked to design a six-month research plan to study employee turnover at this bank.  You have a limited budget  to conduct this research.

 

Required:

 

1. Identify the core hypotheses you will test in your research and identify how key outcome variables will be measured.

 

2. Describe your research design in detail.

 

3. Identify what data you will be required to collect as part of this research and identify if this is primary, secondary or administrative data and also the type of data (ratio, interval, discrete).

 

4. Describe the statistical analysis you will undertake to evaluate your core hypotheses.

 

5. Critically evaluate the study design to identify any potential limitations or biases that may compromise your results.
