# Project #25687 - Statistics HW using WebApplet

Use the Web applet at http://lock5stat.com/statkey/. Click on Mean under sampling distributions tab. Under the new page, click Edit data, delete the old data and copy and paste the attached BMI data. Select data has header row and deselect first column is identifier. Click OK when finish. Put choose sample size n = 20. From our analysis in HW4, we know the population mean BMI is 32.2 and the population standard deviation is 8.04.

(1) Click several times on generate 1000 samples. What are your mean and standard deviation of the sampling distribution?

(2) Move your mouse over the dot plot. You can see each individual sample on your right. What are the minimum, Q1, median, Q3, and maximum of your sampling distribution?

(3) What are the interval for the middle 95% of the sampling distribution?

(4) According to the Central Limit  Theorem, which distribution does the sample mean BMI approximate?

(5) What are the five-number-summaries of the distribution in (4)? And what are the interval for the middle 95% of the distribution in (4)?

(6) Compare the numbers from (2) and (3) to those from (5)?
