The term paper instructions are below:

Instructions for the paper

Each student will select a business and prepare a thorough analysis of the organization. The term paper and the related presentation (see below) will be submitted during Session Six.

The course is designed to provide each student with a practical understanding of the concepts and applications of Fundamentals of Executive Management. Therefore, each student is required to individually analyze and write about an executive management problem in a current workplace. The problem selected should be significant to the operation of the organization. The objective is to identify and analyze the executive management problem by examining the organization’s environment, managerial policies and practices, and make recommendations for potential improvement.  Areas that may be covered in the analysis are issues related to planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

The paper should be written in APA style, should include the history of the business organization and should clearly identify the problem being examined. The impact of the problem should be explored and developed, including any secondary situations it causes. After the problem and its context have been clearly identified and defined, each student should research current writings relevant to the Fundamentals of Executive Management area involved to determine what kinds of causes and solutions have been proposed for similar situations. Together with the principles learned in the course, this literature should be used to propose solutions to the problem as developed and defined. Looking at the literature means that each student should use Rickman Library's business databases to locate various types of sources, including but not limited to: peer-reviewed journals, business magazines, SWOT analyses, and company reports.
