Project #29277 - CORBA, the Common Object Request Broker Architecture

CORBA, the Common Object Request Broker Architecture, is a middleware product that facilitates, among many other things, communication among elements in a heterogenous system. Research the purpose of CORBA and explain how it can be used to provide the "glue" in the implementation of a system created using the UML Components Methodology. Include a brief overview of middleware and identify competing products (no need to explain them, just see what else is out there).

Please cite where appropriate using whatever format you like (APA, MLA, etc.) and ensure your work is original and not just a rehash of some explanation. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source but it is a reasonable starting point.

Do not get too hung up on the source code. You want to capture the interaction among only the classes in the design.
