PROBLEM 1

Assume that the total score from OPRE6302 are found to be normally distributed, with a mean of 820 and standard deviation of 40. Professor is not sure if he should curve to reach the letter grades or do classic scale grading. Class population is 77 after 3 students dropped the class before semester ended.

Help him answer the following questions so he can make decisions favoring his students.

a.     How many students completed this course between a total score of 800 and 899? (30 pts)

b.     Suppose one of the students total score is 700. What percentage of the students are lower? (30 pts)

c.     If professor decides to assign 860 and above with a letter grade A. How many  students will get an A? (40 pts)

Your answers should be all integer so round them to the nearest integer. (Ex. 10.35 rounds as 10 & 2.67 rounds as 3)

PROBLEM 2 (50 pts)

You are responsible from a storage place, which is 2400 cubic feet. Your company receives 2 types of boxes a large and a small size. Large boxes come in 60-cubic-foot packing and small boxes come in 40-cubic-foot. Large boxes can be sold for a \$250 profit and the smaller ones can be sold for \$150 profit. How many of each type of boxes should be sold to maximize profit and what is the maximum profit if:
