Project #30697 - info needed in 2-3 paragrahs

Willy Doolittle, age thirty-eight, is an unemployed male construction worker. He is married with two children in middle school. He has been unable to support his family for the past few weeks because of lack of work. He wife takes care of their rented home, but in addition to being a high school dropout, she received Medicaid assistance for a series of physical problems. One night after having a few beers, Doolittle, using a key he had kept from when he had worked in a grocery warehouse, entered the warehouse without permission and stole approximately $1,000 worth of snack foods. The state charged Doolittle with burglary. His bails was set under a standard schedule that calls for $10,000 cash or bond. Doolittle has no means to post cash or a bond. The public defender (PD) was appointed to represent him. Doolittle has no prior criminal record and has lived in the community for 20 years. He wants to be released, and the PD thinks he may be able to represent him more effectively if Doolittle is released and obtains employment. A social worker reports that the family is in need of support and has offered to assist Doolittle in obtaining employment at a new construction site. The PD asks you to prepare a memorandum to support an application for pretrial release without posting cash or bond. What additional information should you seek? In seeking to obtain Doolittle’s release without posting cash or bond, what conditions of release should the PD propose to the court?
