Please read the Practicing OB exercise, "Your Worst Nightmare Boss" on page 410, and respond to the following questions:
1. Why do you think she acts this way? Is it her job? Something about her personality? Or has she merely learned that intimidation works -- at least for her?
2. What effects do you think her behavior is having on the performance of your work group? Morale, clearly, has been wrecked, but what about efficiency and quality of the work done?
3. What can members of your work group do to change her obnoxious behavior? Or are you stuck with her as long as she is the supervisor and you stay with the company?
Consider: Kingdom Behavior: "Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58" NIV).
"If a ruler's anger rises against you, do not leave your post; calmness can lay great errors to rest" (Ecclesiastes 10:4 NIV). 400 word count
