Project #31837 - Richard Rodriguez and Cesar Chavez

Richard Rodriguez graduated from two Ivy league universities (Stanford and Columbia) and vehemently opposed bilingual education (he stopped speaking Spanish as a child) and all but denied his Mexican heritage.  Cesar E. Chavez,  on the other hand, never graduated from high school, spoke fluent Spanish and English, and fully embraced his Mexican culture. To some these two Mexican American figures may seem to be 180 degrees diametrically opposed to each other. One tried to lead the "uneducated" farm workers while the other tried to influence the American intelligentsia.

Referencing the above readings, identify and reflect on at least two (2) areas where Rodriguez and Chavez converge and promote "Chicanismo."
