Topic:  The relation between the education and the unemployment.

 

Purpose: To persuade.

 

Specific purpose statement: To persuade my audience that the education some time causes the unemployment.

 

Thesis statement: My audience should have a good knowledge about the desire of labor    market and about their majors in the university because: 1-the education some time doesn’t help you to get on a job. 2-the solution will help you to a void the unemployment. 3- There are some benefits of the good knowledge in the labor market.

|. (Attention getter) what is your feeling if you graduated from the university and you didn’t find a job?

 

A.     Actually the unemployment is your responsibility, because you had study the unwanted major in the labor market.

 

B.     The studying in some majors is wasting of time if the labor market doesn’t need it.

 

||. (Credibility) according to the bureau of labor statistics, the percentage of unemployment in US in the last month which is March 2014 is 6.7%. [NCSL]

 

A.     About three years ago my cousin got on a Ph.D. in computer science and he still didn’t find a job.

 

B.     I got directly on a job when I finished my diploma in Automation engineering with a good salary.

 

|||. (Topic justification) there is a strong relation between the kind of education and the employment.

 

A.     Your major is determining if you will get a job or not.

 

B.     The kind of job witch you will get it is depended on your major.

 

C.     The relation between the education and the employing depends on the labor market.

 

|V. (preview) Today, I will persuade you to choose your major depending on the labor market.

 

A.     Some kinds of education some time don’t help you to get a job.

 

B.     The solution will help you to a void the unemployment.

 

C.     There are some benefits of the good knowledge in the labor market.

 

Transition: First I want to talk about the relation between the education and unemployment.

|. (Statement of problem) unemployment is a common problem in the world and it happens when there is enough labors in the market.

 

A.     There are 2 types of education cause the unemployment:

 

1.     First, study some unwanted majors in the labor market.

 

2.     Study a higher degree without any working experience.

 

B.     Some collages graduate a huge number of students in specific majors, so sometimes they cause or inflate the unemployment.

 

||. (Extent and seriousness of the problem) The unemployment is caused of many bad things like poverty or crimes but in the education it is the caused of less educator people in community.

 

A.     The labor market will be affected when the people have less education or specific education because there will be no major in the labor market.

 

1.     The economy of labor market will decline.

 

2.     The quality of labor market will be reduced.

 

B.     The working will be harder for the most people because there is no enough education help the people to have better positions.

 

|V. (Audience involvement) I understand we are all university students and all of us hop to get a good job in the future.

 

A.     The most of you have a reason for his chosen major but only a few students have some information about the desire majors in the labor markets.

 

B.     There are many majors in the university don’t have enough students while the most students are in the business major.

 

C.     Everyone here can see an example of the unemployed people in the roads, so the unemployment is exist.

 

 

 

Transition: I have talked about the Extent and seriousness of the problem, and now I want to share with you some solutions to the problem.

 

 

 

Satisfaction step

 

|. (Evaluation of proposed alternative solution)  There are some potential solutions will help to reduce the percentage of unemployed graduated students.

 

A.     Every university have to give some indicative courses to the new students about the unwanted majors and the desire majors depending on annual studies for the old graduated students, which will indicate to the percentage of unemployment.

 

1.     From the percentage of unemployed students, we will know the undesired majors.

 

2.     This method will help also the labors market when it decreases the percentage of shortage in the market.

 

3.     Also, it will increase the quality of the labors in the market.

 

B.     The second solution, the government should force the all companies and institutions in the country to employ the graduated students and don’t employ any international person and don’t bring any labors from other country.

 

1.     This solution will employ the educator and uneducated people.

 

2.     It will help to raise the country economy.

 

||. (Statement of solution) I believe that the government should force all universities and colleges to close the unwanted majors and only open the desire majors depending on the labor market.

 

|||. (Explanation of solution) the government should do some studies and questionnaires in the labor market in every year about the labor market needs, and depending on these elements the government will open or close some majors.

 

A.     So, the university will open or close some majors in each year.

 

B.     Actually, there will be something like a contract between the labor market and the universities by the government.

 

|V. (effectiveness of the solution) this solution will prevent unemployment event.

 

A.     The employing almost will be guaranteed for the students.

 

B.     The labor market wouldn't need to bring labors from other countries.

 

C.     There will not be a shortage or surplus in the labor market.

 

D.    The competition and the quality will increase between the students or the labors.

 

V. (refutation) only some educational institutions will disagree with this solution, they will say we can't close some majors because we can't prevent the students from the knowledge and the science, but actually they don’t want to lose some money.

 

A.     In this solution, the educational institutions will lose in the salaries of some staff and faculty and there will be non-useful buildings, but the colleges will be affected more than the universities, because maybe the government will close a collage for one year.

 

B.     Actually still there is a big profit for the educational institutions, also they can find many solutions for their problem like increase the capacity of admission in the desire majors.

 

C.       The unemployment problem is important more than the educational institutions problem, because the real problem when they are graduated students without jobs.

 

Transition: I have talked with you about some solutions to prevent the unemployment, now let's look at the effects of choosing or not choosing to pursue this solution.

|. (negative visualization) imagine yourself when you graduate from the university and you stay without job for some years and after that you have to accept any job just to be alive.

 

A.     Actually this situation happens for many people who don’t care about desire majors in the labor market.

B.     Imagine yourself when you get on a job directly after the graduation, for sure you will have a good position after 15 years of work.

 

Transition: the solution which I have talked about it will determine your future, so try to be positively and follow what I will say.

My audience is a group of students in different majors and in different levels in the university. They are afraid and interested in the same time about their future. The most of them have good majors but there are some of them are in trouble with their chosen majors and really they need to apply my advice which I have talked about it when I said they have to change their majors depending on the labor market to avoid the unemployment after the graduation. However, my audience realizes the danger of unemployed and the relation between the kind of education and the unemployment and I hope they try to apply the solution or a part of it.
