Here are the questions:

1.- A pool of benzene is ignited on the floor of a large industrial building. The total area covered by the Kerosene pool is 6 meters square (Note that this is considered a large pool D>0.2 meters). Combustion efficiency is 70%. Estimate the plume mass flow rate. Hint: see chapter 3.

2.- Using the results above, a) estimate the plume mass flow rate above the flame if the smoke layer is 5 meters above the floor. Then, b) estimate the maximum plume temperature at the interface height of 5 meters above the floor. Assume the combustion to be 70% efficient and the flame radiation losses to be 30%. Use approximate properties of ambient air of T = 20^{o}C, c_{p }= 1 kJ and g = 9.81 m/s^{2}. Hint: see chapter 4.

3.- Find the area of required ceiling ventilation for an industrial building 5 meters high that has an opening at floor level measuring 4 square meters. The smoke is not to reach lower than 2.5 meters from the floor. The fire causes a plume mass flow of 6 kg/sec at the height of 2.5 meters and the upper gas temperature is 450 ^{0}C. The outside ambient temperature is 20 ^{0}C.
