The oral interpretation report is designed for students to experience oral interpretation in many different facets. They will watch recorded and live performances. Students will examine these performance, as well as consider their own performance to draft a report about the subject-area. Students will complete a 2500-3000 words oral interpretation report. In this report students will watch one (1) oral interpretation performance in their community. An oral interpretation performance is can be any of the following: a play, poetry reading, public speaking event or dramatic reading (this can be a sermon). Students will attend at least one of these performances, however, two to three performance viewings are encouraged. In your report, analyze the performance you watched according to principles from the course and text. Include what you learned from conducting critiques and receiving feedback into the process of evaluating live performances. In week 7 you will create an outline of their report. In the outline include information about what performance you have attended or plan to see, as well as a written outline for their paper. Your report will be 2500-3000 words and you will analyze the performance you viewed, your critiques, feedback you received and what you learned from the process.
