C++ assignment:

We need to use LINKED DATA STRUCTURES.

A classic problem in quieting theory is whether it’s better to have one line per server (teller, associate, or whatever the title is), or to have a single line for all servers. You will write a program to investigate this question, which is more efficient

You will need a server module or class. It simply gets a customer from a line, performs it’s action for a set number of time units, updates that time, and sends the customer on his/her way.

After the service you do not need to keep that customer. Perform proper memory management.

You will need a line module or class. It simply holds customers. They

enter at one end and are served from the other end.

You will need a customer struct or class. At a minimum you will need to know what time the customer entered the line and what time he/she was finished with a server.

The code for one line per server and one line for all should be very similar, if not identical. Each server just needs to know which line they are taking customers from.

You will need a module or class to generate new customers at some random interval. For multiple lines you can just assign them randomly, or put the new customer in the shortest line.

You will need that module to determine when to stop generating new customers, or even just stop the simulation.

These are well-behaved customers and will not change lines.

Efficiency can be defined different ways. Some metrics to consider; average wait time per customer, average down time for servers (i.e. how long they didn’t have a customer),and total number of customers served in a set period of time.

Collect, calculate and print a few possible metrics.

You will use a simple linked list to represent the line(s). Just remember to put in at one end and take out at the other.
