Project #38274 - law2

budget 10

Norman had incurred huge debts and sought to acquire some cash by staging a robbery of a branch of the Skyrack Building Society. He obtained a crash helmet, mask and a sawn-off shotgun and made several journeys to the branch in order to ensure that his arrival there coincided with that of the staff lunch break when fewer people would be on duty. On the appointed day he entered the branch, but when an assistant asked him to remove his helmet, he lost his nerve and he ran away. On the following day he wore a knitted helmet, entered the branch and waited at the counter in vain for 15 minutes for an assistant to attend to him. Finally, from sheer frustration, he fired his gun. A counter assistant sustained serious shotgun wounds. Norman fled empty handed.

Discuss any criminal liability which arises from these facts.
