Hello, this is an assignment on the subject of physical quantities.

I want the answer's with detailed explanation please (as I'm supposed to do that in a tutorial)

Question 1: Trigonometry

Use trigonometry to measure the height of the big twin chimneys at the back of LGI (Clarendon Way) (Report your result and outline briefly how you found it).

Question 2: Geometrical concepts

Two vectors a and b have coordinates (2,3) and (-1,1) in a cartesian reference frame (for

each question, report the result and outline briefly how you found it).

a) What is the length of their sum a+b?

b) What is the angle between a and a+b?

c) Rotate the reference frame over 30 degrees. What are the coordinates of a and b now?

Question 3: Vector fields

Transverse magnetisation in MRI is a vector with two components Mx and My in a cartesian reference frame. An image is acquired and it is observed that Mx and My at any given coordinate (x,y) look like this: Mx = M0*cos(ax-by) and My = M0*(x+y)/c. The values of the parameters are M0 = 1 A/m, a = 3/cm, b = 5/cm and c = -1cm.

a) If an image has dimensions 12cm x 12cm and 4 pixels in each direction, determine the values of Mx and My at the center of each pixel (report 2 tables with 4x4 values each).

b) Visualise the resulting vector field by drawing the arrows at each pixel centre (report the resulting figure).
