Project #44414 - proposal essay

Problem/Solution Proposal Every topic below involves some sort of issue or problem we can find in or lives or in the world around us. The topic you choose should be closely related to you: a proposal which will help you in your personal life or will help you directly or indirectly by improving the community. Choose the topic you can connect with most and write a thesis that (1.) identifies why ________ is an issue/problem and (2) creates a possible solution, including a way to implement that solution. Once you have identified a thesis, craft a paper that supports it. In at least 400 words (not counting sources and citations), your persuasive proposal will convince readers that there is an issue/problem and that you have a viable solution. Possible Proposal Topics: Eliminate traffic congestion on campus (choose a specific spot) Increase recycling facilities on campus Improve public transportation in Phenix City Graduate from college with no debt Revitalize your hometown’s downtown area Create a farmers’ market Save money through couponing Educate a community about a specific topic of concern (environmental problem, contagious disease) Increase a child’s vegetable intake—or maybe even yours! Create a family budget Create a cafeteria that meets student needs Build a life with a significant other Increase safety awareness for a natural disaster (choose one type) *You can choose your own topic. However, your topic must be approved by the instructor.* *Remember, your proposal should discuss the problem, the solution, and ways to implement that solution (this will create a natural order for your body paragraphs). Your reader must be convinced of the following: that there is a problem, that your solution will work—or at least help, and that your solution is possible to actually implement.* *Realize that in order to document the fact that there is a problem and/or that your solutions will work, you will have to do a little research. Some things we simply cannot claim; we must back up certain claims.* *At least TWO sources are required.* *All sources used must be incorporated properly. It is important that you befriend the resources in your textbook and on Blackboard, including all assigned readings, and pay close attention during class discussions of how to find credible sources and how to use sources responsibly. Any information taken from a source must be cited at the end of the sentence(s) which contain the information. A citation on a Works Cited page is required as well. If you are using the exact words of someone else, put those words into quotation marks and follow the same rules for the ideas/information taken from any source. Remember, plagiarism = F.*
