WRITING THE ANALYSIS: When discussing the different developmental aspects of the sociogram it is important to use the names you have made up for the children when discussing them as individuals or as members of a group.

 

1.     In detail explain the peer group’s responses using the developmental information from your text and class notes. Specifically, examine the nature of each of the groupings, including those on the periphery (outside).  Discuss the following using examples in relation to the groupings within your diagram:

a) Gender

b) Who is popular and what is it about them that explains their popularity (social skills, instrumental behavior or other qualities)

c) Children who are:  1. rejected, neglected, 2.controversial or average. When discussing social skills be specific and tell me which skill you are referring to.

2.    Identify and describe group norms (interests, values beliefs etc. held by the group) that have affected the children’s choices.

3.    Identify any children who use aggressive behavior. Discuss the outcome of their behavior on being accepted by peers.

4.    Does your sociogram reveal problems in your classroom?  Discuss them.

 

5.    Apply  APA in-text citations to back up your thinking for your answers.
