Assignment 1 (Two-page length) [Due in Week Two]
In A Midsummer Night's Dream, we are presented with two couples (Lysander and Hermia; Demetrius and Helena). In both cases there are challenges in describing their relationship. In a two-page essay, describe the similarities and differences in their relationship. Do they share things in common? How are they different?
ï‚§ Font: Your essay should be word processed in 12-point, Times New Roman,
ï‚§ Double space: Your entire essay should be double spaced, with no single
spacing anywhere AND no extra spacing anywhere. There should not be extra
spaces between paragraphs.
ï‚§ Heading: In the upper left corner of the first page of your essay, you should type
your name, the instructor's name, your class, and the date, as follows:

ï‚§ Margins: Your essay should have a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, left, and
right. Double check them- don’t assume that your document has one inch
margins to start with.
ï‚§ Page Numbers: The page number should appear in the upper right corner of
each page of your essay, including the first page. “Insert” the page number as a
"header." Do NOT type this information where the text of your essay should be.
ï‚§ Page Number Instructions for MS Word: click "insert" (next to Home tab), click
Page Number, click Top of Page, choose the third one down (#3).
ï‚§ Title: Your essay should include a title. The title should be centered and should
appear under the heading information on the first page and above the first line of
your essay. The title should be in the same fonts as the rest of your essay, with no
quotation marks, no underlining, no italics, and no bold.
ï‚§ Do NOT include any additional information (i.e., do not include the
ï‚§ Indentation: The first line of each paragraph should be indented- pressing [Tab]
key once should give you the correct indentation.
ï‚§ Align Left: The text of your essay should be lined up evenly at the left margin
only. Only the title should be centered. Choose "Align Left” (Do NOT choose
"Justify”), and do not indent (with the exception of the first line of each paragraph).
