Key answer: The benefits and pitfalls of open and involved management in the stakeholder process...

Freeman (1984) argues that the stakeholder approach to strategic management offers a more flexible, open and involved way to manage projects, initiatives and goals for organizations and sub-units within those organizations.  Yet he also cautions that with every benefit there could be real and perceived pitfalls that could lead to inaction and distraction.
