Topic: Have People become overly dependent on technology.

Thesis statement: The human civilization underwent many changes and developments with the passage of time. Early man lived in caves and forests. They lived on the food available in the forests. Science has blessed mankind with all the basic comforts of life, which has made people become overly dependent on technology. Technology is good and bad. It is slowly taking over our social lives, health, and slowly creeping into our relationships and everyday activities. Society today has enjoyed the benefits of having technology; however the luxuries that it provide often have twice as many problems that it provides.

 

 

Outline

1.       Human abuse on modern technology.

 

(a)    Advantage of internet.

(b)   Illegal downloads

(c)    Crimes involving illegally retrieving personal particulars such as credit card numbers.

2.       Change in human behavior.

(a)    Lack of face-to-face communication

(b)   People too dependent on modern technology

(c)    Being too materialistic and competitive

3.       Effects of health

(a)    Pollution

(b)   Obesity

(c)    Congestion

                     

 

Topic: Have People become overly dependent on technology.

Your essay must follow one of the three argumentative formats discussed in the course.  This means that the essay will have more than 5 paragraphs. I will review the essay to ensure that you have followed formal academic writing standards and that you have submitted an essay that follows one of the three argumentation styles. I have also included a few reminders in the Start Here area that you will need to be successful with writing in this course. 

 

Your final document should be grammatically correct and typed.   You should have at least four sources. Your essay should have a Works Cited at the end of the document. You should use the resources in the book to ensure that you are following MLA format. I have also included a few reminders in the Start Here area that you will need to be successful with writing in this course. 

The essay must be turned in to safe assign. Do not post it here. Post in Chapter 8 (Course Content). 

Step 2: Decide on your stance on the prompt.

Step 3: Write a thesis that indicates your position and the reasons why you have that position Course Content>Unit 5 Chapter 4> Lecture Notes

Step 4: Go to Course Content >Unit 4 Chapter 3 > Lecture Notes

                      Review the three argumentative styles and pick one to follow.

Step 5: Make a sentence outline that shows the thought process. (You may need to do some research.)

Step 6: Make a title that indicates the style of argumentation (America Must Change: A Classical Approach) and post to BB.

Step 7: Wait for my comments and make changes.

Rough Draft

Take your thesis and outline and draft (write) your essay. This essay will not be complete; however, you will need to have 1,000 words. Your rough draft must have the bones for at least 6 of the paragraphs needed for your final draft. Post to BB for peer review.

 

 

Documented Research Essay: Final Essay 100 points

 

 

You must take the same argumentative essay (rough draft) and add research that supports your case. Final draft should be between 1500-2000 words.

 

Write a final research essay based on the outline, thesis submitted, and rough draft. Make sure that you follow all directions and meet the standards of the course. Your final document should be grammatically correct and typed.   You should have at least five sources. Your essay should have a Works Cited at the end of the document. You should use the resources in the book to ensure that you are following MLA format. I have also included a few reminders in the Start Here area that you will need to be successful with writing in this course. 

 

You are required to provide in-text documentation. You are also required to follow ALL FAW guidelines.

Any essay submitted without a Works Cited and/or In-Text citation will earn a 0.
