HR can use an M&A to enhance its position in the newly merged organization. As new 4Ps are developed, HR can communicate its knowledge of cultural integration, international employment law, and talent retention to increase its role within the organization. HR’s soft skills in culture and talent aligned with their hard skills of employment and pension law put them in a perfect position to strategically partner with top management. What proactive strategies can HR use to expand their position in an organization? Furthermore, how can HR use M&A opportunities to demonstrate that they can provide more than just transactional services?

In this paper, you will analyze HR’s growth opportunities. To begin this paper, review the Galpin and Whittington article presented in this week’s Learning Resources, focusing on strategies that HR can use to strategically mitigate the common missteps of top management. Reflect on how these strategies could be combined with others presented this week to increase HR’s role post M&A. Then, begin to formulate strategies that can be used to further enhance the HR brand.

To complete this Assignment, respond to the following in a 3- to 5-page paper:

·         Analyze growth opportunities

o    Cite at least one way you might recognize an opportunity to stimulate growth in an organization.

o    Describe at least two ways HR can use M&As to revamp an organization’s current 4P systems/norms.

o    Justify how each of these proposed changes might positively impact the growth of a newly merged or acquired organization.

·         Formulate strategies for enhancing the HR brand.

o    Name at least two opportunities HR can utilize to market their brand as a strategic partner before, during, and after M&A proceedings.

§  Conduct additional research to identify at least one strategy you can use to exploit each of these two opportunities.

§  Cite at least one pro and at least one con that can result from using each of these growth opportunities to enhance the HR brand.
