Project #50027 - psych

Conduct an interview for a life story

Interviewee: One and please keep he/her name confidentially. (If he/she is under 18 years old, you will need his/her parent consent.) The goal is to understand their life story. You can choose to work with a partner on the interview, but each student will turn in individual essay. In your interview, ask your interviewees about their current life, and what they see as the continuities and changes in the time from childhood to the present. You need to include three domains of development—physical, cognitive, and socioemotional – as your “topic” questions. (if you miss one of them, you will loss points) Then, ask anything else they might have been left out for you getting to really “understand” their current lives. During the interview, you could take copious notes, or ask the interviewee if they would allow you to audiotape the interview for your write-up. For this essay, you should (1) present a snapshot of the person’s life, so that the reader feels they have met your interviewee, and (2) try to make links between particulars of the person’s life and the concepts, themes, theories, or research in we are discussing in the course. For example, does your interviewee’s experience suggest stages of development, or do stages seem inappropriate in their case? (between 300-600 words).

To get extra Bonus (5pts), you have to write another person's life story where you can include only one domain of development—either  physical, cognitive, or socioemotional – as your “topic” questions. (at least 250 words).
