IS3350 - Business Programming | Term Project Guidelines

Each student will participate in an individual semester project.  The Academic Honesty Code will be in effect for all project activities. 

 

TERM PROJECT: Each student will be responsible for identifying an organizational or business process with which to document, model, and program as a business application.  The organizational or business process must be unique.  All projects have to be approved by the professor before the first exam and process complexity is required for approval.  Each student will submit their term business programming project during the last week of class. 

Students should logically discuss their project as needed.  Each student should develop their project deliverables according to the following requirements.

 

Process Narrative:                                                                                                              20% Total

    One to two pages explaining the process (inputs, algorithms, logic, and outputs).

Process Flow Chart:                                                                                                           15% Total

    A detailed flow chart of the process steps and logic.

Pseudocode:                                                                                                                         15% Total

    Explain in English, and using Visual Basic terms, each step of the process.

Hierarchy Chart:                                                                                                                15% Total

    A layered chart that illustrates the different process steps and how they relate.

Process coded and debugged in Visual Basic 2012:                                                         15% Total

    Detailed print-out of business application in Visual Basic 2012 with appropriate programming comments for documentation.

Visual Basic prototype of business process application:                                                 20% Total

    Prototype can be zipped and it must run for credit.  If I cannot open the zip file, then I cannot run it.
