Project #54437 - Screening Technologies

Introduction

Screening is just one of the many layers in a security program, one with which many of us, as consumers of commercial travel, are thoroughly familiar. From a traveler's point of view, sometimes the passenger and baggage screening process flows smoothly and the traveler is quickly on their way to the gate. Other times, and at other airports, the process lags and customer frustrations and complaints have no end. What is the difference between these experiences? What screening methods and technologies are available for use at commercial airports? Why are they used? How efficient are they, and how much do they cost? In this three-part assignment, you will have the opportunity to discover the answers to these questions and more as you research screening methods and technologies. This assignment will give you the opportunity to glean knowledge from your peers and evaluate the effectiveness of a complete passenger and baggage screening program.

In this module, part one of this assignment, you will research one type of passenger screening method or technology and use your research to create a profile your classmates will view.
