Project #54467 - Psychology Slideshow

Applied Final Project

Individual project briefing. You must prepare an individual project briefing for an intervention intended to change workplace behavior in a fictitious organization, just as an I/O psychologist might present to a management team. Select a type of organization that you know best from your own work experience. The purpose of this requirement is to give you experience in researching and meeting a "real world" requirement which you may later include in your portfolio and job resumes. The briefing must be in PowerPoint format and contain 10—20 slides. You may choose any one of the following topics:

·         How to increase motivation,

·         How to increase job satisfaction,

·         How to improve job selection procedures,

·         How to introduce leadership skills training,

·         How to reduce absenteeism,

·         How to reduce turnover,

·         How to increase organizational involvement.

For example, if you select an intervention to increase motivation through an employee rewards program (such as bonuses, education payments, etc.), you must be quite specific about why you propose that particular measure. You can propose the intervention for any kind of fictitious organization, but the presentation must be realistic, so it is best to select an organization or industry with which you are familiar. We have had some fine PowerPoint demonstrations developed in recent classes and most students find PowerPoint to be the most suitable medium for this project.
