Project #55243 - Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle Position Paper

Hi. My Ethics class use Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle book that is translated by Joe Sachs and Machete Season book to relate to the prompt. I choose B option and I want to focus there.

Prompt B: Pleasures, Pain

First, completely yet concisely, supporting your Aristotelian answer with evidence from the text, argue for the role of pleasure and pain in rightly orienting yourself toward the ultimate end, including in your answer whether practical judgment or wisdom is more important to you in identifying pleasure and pain, why and what role that has in achieving the ultimate end. Second, begin by applying the key points of the argument you have just provided to an action of one of the Machete Season men to examine what drove the action, i.e what was his motivation and where did that motivation grow from, then also evaluate the strength (and possibly also weakness) of the argument presented and applied. Third, provide your own argument - completely separate from Aristotle, with your own terms and definitions- concerning your own position on the role of what one finds fearful or terrible and what one finds pleasant or lovable in living the "good life".
