Place the symbol of each element in the top left hand corner of the appropriate box.
Place the atomic number of each element in the

Number the periods.
Number the groups.
Place the most common ion charge(s) for each

periodic table according to the following code:
The hydrogen family (a family of one!)
The alkali metals
The alkali earth metals
The noble gases
The lanthanide series
The actinide series
The transition metals
Using a ruler, draw three parallel vertical arrows facing up on the left margin of the periodic table..
Draw three parallel horizontal arrows facing to the rig
ht across the top of the table.
Label each of the arrows on the left and across the top with the terms atomic size, ionization
energy and electronegativity.
Next to each term write the appropriate word to describe how th
e trend in these terms
as you move
cross a period
from left to right
and up a chemical family.
