# Project #58744 - truth tables

In a Word document, construct truth tables for the following arguments. Identify each simple statement and use the letters provided to represent each simple statement. Translate the compound statement into statement logic form. After you have constructed the truth table, highlight the truth values of the premises and the conclusion, and indicate whether the argument is valid or invalid. You will need both your table, and your VALID or INVALID claim for complete credit.

1. If Apples are severed then Oranges are served as well, and vice versa. We are serving apples. So, we are also serving oranges.
A = Apples are served. O = Oranges are served.

2. Erika will get either a dog or a cat. Erika is getting a dog, so she is also getting a cat.
D = Erika will get a dog. C = Erika will get a cat.

3. If Quinn does not finish reading, she will not attend the book group. Quinn has finished reading. Therefore, Quinn is attending the book group.
R = Quinn finishes reading. A = Quinn is attending the book group.

4. Patrick will either go to graduate school or get a job. Patrick is getting a job, so he is not going to graduate school.
G = Patrick will go to graduate school. P = Patrick will get a job.

5. Mike will either come home for the weekend or stay in Philadelphia. Mike is not staying in Philadelphia, so he must be coming home this weekend.
H = Mike will come home for the weekend. S = Mike will stay in Philadelphia
