  1. On a single, properly labeled coordinate plane, sketch the graph of a

function, f(x), which meets all of the following criteria:
a) The domain is (-∞,10]
b) The range is [-6,∞)
c) f(-5) = 3, f(3) = 6, f(8) = -2
d) f(x) is increasing on the intervals (-9,-1) and (8,10)
e) f(x) is constant on the interval (-1,4)
f) f(x) is decreasing on the intervals (-∞,-9) and (4,8)

 

 

2. Let f(x) = (square root of) x+ 2 . Use a series of graphs to transform f(x) into g(x) = 4 – f(x+5). Please label your graphs so it is clear what the
equation of each graph is.
For each function below, state the exact coordinates of the
x-intercept, and y-intercept, if they exist. If an intercept does not
exist, write DNE. Also, state the domain and range of each function
using interval notation. Please complete a table like the one below
to list the intercepts, domain and range for each function.
