Project #61566 - Essay

Self or Others

In each reading, a character feels acutely aware of how different he or she is from others. Some of the characters hold on to their differences, and other characters change themselves to fit in to the world around them. Most characters create a compromise that allows them to both maintain their individuality in part while conforming to the expectations of the outside world. Which compromises are successful? Why? What do the successful compromises tell us about the characters and about the world around them?

Answer in a five-paragraph essay about characters from two readings . Make certain you use specific examples and quotes. Type and double-space your essays.
