The 2016 Presidential Election is almost 2 years away and yet there’s been significant discussion in the Media already. One of the biggest topics of Discussion and Speculation revolves around Hillary Clinton. **NOTE**NOTE**When I put this assignment together she Had Not made a decision. Even if she has made one since the beginning of the Semester; this assignment is still valid. After all, this is all a Hypothetical situation…that you’re an Advisor to Hillary. So, whether she has announced her decision or not; complete this assignment as the next paragraph outlines.

 

 

 

            For this assignment you will assume the role of one of Hillary’s most trusted Advertising Advisors. Decisions need to be made in the very near future, in fact they maybe should have already been made. You should consider and council her on at least the following:

 

 

 

  1. Should she run for President of the USA in 2016?

  2. If not, you need to give all the reasons and answer all the following questions from a Advertising and Marketing position that will explain your negative recommendation from a professional position not just from a “…I just don’t think so” or “…I just don’t like her”. After all, Advertising is a Key Part of Marketing!

  3. When should she announce and why then as opposed to some other time?

  4. How much of a role should Bill Clinton play?

  5. What kind of Research should you conduct to help you make the decision about how to advise her?

  6. What Segments of the Market should you concentrate on and how would you determine those segments…demographically, geographically, etc?

  7. Would you suggest that she try to modify her image in any way?

  8. Her daughter, Chelsea, recently made her a Grandmother. Is this event: a good thing, a bad thing, something she should try to capitalize on or avoid? Take this question in any direction you’d like.

  9. When would you start a Media Campaign and what Media would you use? Explain your reasons completely.

  10. How much will Social Media be a part of the plan? Consider this question in relation to the Segments you’ve selected in the earlier question.

  11. What would be the key messages you want to deliver in the media plan?

  12. How would you address the “Inevitability Issue” that has already come up regarding her potential candidacy?

  13. How would you recommend that she spend her money between Advertising, Public Relations and Promotions and anything else?

  14. Should she agree to debate the other candidates or not?

  15. How much “Personal Selling”…being out there…should she undertake?

 

           

 

 

 

These are just some of the issues you might discuss, but there are many, many others. Think about the role that Marketing & Advertising plays in your life and show me that you’re beginning to “Get” how these things are in your face every day.

 

 

 

You can find a great deal of information from the Media and On Line but this assignment is about YOU and your understanding of Advertising. Just how do you go about Marketing a person and their ideas? You are the key Marketing & Advertising Consultant for Hillary and her decision rests largely on what you recommend. Marketing & Advertising, in this hypothetical situation, could help decide the direction of the USA for years to come…that’s kind of an important role that Marketing & Advertising often takes on in the real world. So, whether she has announced her decision or not; complete this assignment as if she’s still considering her options!**NOTE**I want to see what you really think, regardless of her decision. There’s no right or wrong answer. To get a good grade on this assignment you just need to do some work, some research and come up with a recommendation that’s based on facts and information…not on “feelings”.
