Project #68019 - Graphic Novel Paper

Read one of the fifteen graphic novels / trade paperbacks listed at the end then to write about (Papers should be approximately 2 pages. ):

1. Give a summary, in your own words, of the story in your graphic novel. Tell me in your own words about the narrative and what you thought was/were the highlight(s) of the story. **Here is where you must show me that you actually read the story**

2. Discuss how issues of race and ethnicity are dealt with in the narrative. Is there any prejudice or racism seen in the narrative? Do you see any stereotypes in how individual characters are portrayed? What struck you about how race and/or ethnicity was (or was not) portrayed in the book?

3. Do you see how anything portrayed in the book (around the issues of race and/or ethnicity) might have an impact on a reader, particularly one of a younger age? How might it have an effect on their social construction of reality or their beliefs/attitudes about specific social groups?

4. Is there anything else relevant in the reading of this book you feel needs to be addressed that were not a part of questions 1-3 about race and/or ethnicity within the narrative of the book?
