Project #68241 - Essay

This exercise will be an opportunity to write a classical essay that argues a specific point. In Chapter 17, Machiavelli argued that, for a prince, it is better to be feared than loved. He then used examples from history as evidence for his position. For this essay, you must consider the same question: is it better for a ruler to be feared or loved? Pick a side in this argument, then use evidence of people we have read about in the textbook to argue your position. There should not be any need to go outside of the textbook and The Prince for any additional information.             The paper should be in the model of the five-paragraph essay: Introduction, 3 paragraphs giving examples, and a conclusion. The introduction should clearly state which side of the argument you support and how you will address the argument. The next three paragraphs should present three separate examples from history to demonstrate your side of the argument. The final paragraph should restate you position and how your evidence supported it.
