1.While I did not know it was to this degree I did know most of this was going on, it is very sad and the truth for the world we live in. I do not think this system should be sustainable, a meeting of the minds needs to come about and come up with better solutions for all of this. Think about our pillows! I do believe that we all (as consumers) contribute to this system, the goal is to sell these products and if we are buying them then why should a factory or a business care about how they got the sell? If we cannot filter our purchases to more cleanly produced labels then why should anyone care? I have recently started trying to find businesses that actually support their workers and the communities and give charitable donations but don't publicize it. These are the companies that actually care about our safety and our business with them. As for my own behavior I notice that I don't recycle as much as I probably should, honestly because I don't have a second bin in my kitchen. I've noticed at other peoples homes that have a separate container in their kitchen I always recycle, I could easily go buy one and do what I can to help the environment.

I'm not sure that I agree with the entire content of this video. But I have an open mind and realize there are many that do believe this is the way our economy operates.

- Do you believe that this system is sustainable?
The system is probably not sustainable, but the system is always evolving. Cars once got 10 miles to the gallon...now they get 40 miles to the gallon. Technology has and will continue address the environment and enhance the sustainability of our natural resources, in my opinion.

- Do you contribute to the system?  How?
I feel my contribution to the system is a positive one. I recycle, I buy only what I need. I use environmentally safe products when possible. I buy organic when possible and also look for products made in America.

- How can you as an individual make a positive change?
Buy an electric vehicle to drive, however it does take electricity to charge these vehicles...electricity has to be purchased too, the same as gasoline. I would continue to recycle and continue to use environmentally safe products.

- What specific behaviors have you noticed in your lifestyle that would be relatively easy to modify and reduce your consumption?
I'm in the process of turning my grass yard into a desert landscape with drought resistant plants.
I could try to ride a bicycle when possible, walk to the grocery store or post office. I could buy more organic foods. Compost my food waste and continue to recycle. Buy American made products always!
