a) What happens to the CI when a client “raises the bar” so to speak by selecting a very high CL?  That is, what is the difference between a CI at 95% CL and 99% CL?    

 

b)  Interpret the results of the Food Market analysis.  That is, do you have sufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis and what would you tell your client about the CI calculated for the 99% CL? 

 

c)  Finally, from a practical perspective, what do you think causes differences between checkout times from one checkout lane to another?  That is, do you think this was a useful study for the store manager?  What, in your opinion, could be done to improve the study design?
