"It was also alarming to know of the deadly riots which erupted over the use of bibles in schools during the 1800s and also about the fact that native Americans did not get full protection under the first amendment to the United States constitution until 1993. Another issue that suprised me was the fact that numerous terror attacks executed in the United States since the 1980s had been executed by adherents of Christian identity. The fact that Malcom X and Muhammad Ali were the one to bring Islam into popular culture and the fact that Asian immigration to the west resulted in labour disputes and racial tensions also caught my attention. On the other hand, there were a few pieces of information which comforted me, in that it seem like some hope was brought about in such a tough time for those individuals. After the September 11 attack, Americans forgot about their differences and came together continuing to believe in a vision of a more perfect union which would bring about unity between the American people because of their mutual grievances. The speech by all the United States presidents alleviates me, in that it sets a motion of disapproval towards the negative approach that was taken towards religion. A perfect example would be when president George W. Bush addressed the Muslim people after the September eleven attack stating that the efforts to bring the terrorists involved in such an attack to justice would be focused on the radical elements in their religion and not on Islam. It was also comforting when president John F. Kennedy addressed religions on the aspect of laying blame on each other through accusations based on suspicions. I believe that it defeats the purpose for which religion was set to establish. Some of the things which inspired me in this video are; the spirit of true American values in play at the peak of the KKK era, which resulted in the klan's loss of political might. I also felt inspired when president Barack Obama made a factual claim about the origin of we Americans. The president sated that we the people of the United States are a Nation of immigrants and also the fact that as a Nation we always believe that a more perfect union is still within our grasp. President Ragan also inspired me when he said that the gorvenment should not make it illegal for any religion to practice their faith. He also Stated that the United States has refrained from establishing any religion as stated in the United States constitution and that we ( U.S) protect the free exercise of every religion. The things that enraged me was when Jews were banded from public worship in New York, the Pueblo Indians being forced to give up their religious tradition, Catholic Churches being burnt down and the fact that the KKK had gained control of State legislators from Maine to Oregon issuing laws against Catholics, Jews, immigrants and other anti Americans. In my opinion, I believe that their actions were unconstitutional due to the fact that it violates the United States constitution."
