Project #7607 - Handbook

In Week 4, you provided a channel-of-communication chart of your establishment. This week, you will prepare a training handbook for a specific department within your establishment. This will include developing an agenda for a pretraining meeting and developing a detailed training session. Choose a department within your establishment for which you will develop an agenda for a pretraining meeting and a detailed training session.

Section 1: Agenda for Pretraining Meeting

For developing the training handbook, you will first set the agenda for a pretraining meeting. Your pretraining meeting agenda should be a
one- to two-page Microsoft Word document and should include the following:

• Business need of implementing a training program (why does this department need training, what are the facts driving the need).
• Intended target audience that should receive the training (who will be receiving the training and why).
• Personnel who should conduct the training (who are the trainers, perhaps the reasons for their selection).
• A training schedule the department will follow over the next couple of weeks (what are the overall topics and focus areas to be covered in the entire training program (all modules) - this should be detailed enough that an employee can look at a particular module and understand what to expect).

Section 2: Detailed Training Session

As the next step toward developing the training handbook, you will need to develop a detailed training session. Develop one training session that will be followed for the first few weeks of employment. For example, a training session could be developed on cook recipe training. (Note: You may NOT use this example for your assignment.)   The detailed training session should be the same as or closely related to one of the topics you included in the agenda you wrote for Section 1 above.

Your training session should be a
one- to three-page Microsoft Word document and should include the following:

• Job classification(s) of those receiving training
• Training location(s) involved in this modules training
• Training methods to be employed / implemented during the training
• Training materials to be distributed / utilized during the module
• Objective of the training session, content, and duration
• Post-training effectiveness feedback (how trainees will evaluate the training)
• Performance review post training session (how trainers will evaluate the trainees)

Create your Agenda & Training document in Microsoft Word to be added to your final Handbook. I have attached an example of a student’s "A" level work that was posted in a previous class. However I removed most of the students’ content, leaving more of an outline to show the depth of work they did in order to address each and every element in the call(s) of the question / posted rubric. Suffice to say, each of the sections and numbered items had contained detailed and specific information.

To be clear, this is just an example of how one student approached the assignment. It is not meant to be, nor should it be used as a template for your assignment! It is being posted to provide you with some organizational ideas and to illustrate how each element is addressed in the response. I hope it helps!
