Think about experts in your field who you admire. Who in your field has 10,000 hours of experience? What professional skills and knowledge are you passionate about and which you are devoting many hours to practice and learn?  Chapter 2 “The 10,000 Hour Rule” begins on page 35 and ends on page 67 of the printed version of Outliers. You may also access the entire book as a pdf file via this link:http://cs.ecust.edu.cn/snwei/studypc/jsjdl/data/OutliersTheStoryOfSuccess.pdf

Assignment Prompt: Write a 1 to 2-page essay, based on the below prompt:

·      Using inductive and/or deductive reasoning, compose a thesis that either supports or refutes the position or claim being made in the professional article you found in the library. Your introduction should introduce the broad topic of your interest, narrow to the topic discussed in the professional article, and end with a strong, clear thesis statement.

·      Within the body of your essay, use evidence from your professional article, from Gladwell’s Outliers, and where appropriate from anecdotal evidence from your personal experience to support your argument. You are required to relay one main idea from Gladwell’s “The 10,000 Hour Rule” and one or two main ideas from your chosen professional essay.
