Start Developing Your Annotated Bibliography Now

Along with your proposal, you will need to find resources to support your topic. These resources provide examples that go directly into your proposal.  The example pertain to two areas: 1) what other companies have experienced the same problem that you are trying to solve; 2) what companies arrived at solutions that your company could also implement?

You will then have to reference your sources to give credit to the author or organization to which the resource belongs. Annotated bibliographies are typically used for academic research papers, but they can also be useful tools for professional reports and proposals. In an annotated bibliography, each reference includes an additional summary that describes the content and explains why the source is useful.

Your annotated bibliography is due Week Eight.  Our syllabus states:  Students are expected to develop an annotated bibliography throughout this course. This assignment will be submitted at the end of the course. The bibliography should have a minimum of 10 scholarly sources. The document should follow APA 6th edition formatting and each citation should include (be annotated with) an article summary that is less than 500 words…150 words is ideal.

The Executive Summary

Taking the outline that you wrote last week, develop a short (one page) Executive Summary. The executive summary is a one-page summary of your proposal’s highlights. You should use the executive summary as a tool to persuade your readers to read your entire proposal. This should be written as a professional document and include these Headers:

  • BACKGROUND INFORMATION
  • PROBLEM
  • SOLUTIONS
  • RECOMMENDATIONS

Going Green in the Federal Government

The negative climatic change due to environmental pollution has prompted various countries to develop various ways of reducing emission carbon into the atmosphere.  The most effective way developed is going green. In the United States of America, going green in the federal government is being initiated by various federal agencies as one of the strategies of reducing carbon footprint in the country. Various federal agencies have been trying to put in place different mechanisms in reducing carbon emission by 28% by the year 2020.

However, majority of the mechanisms are just aspirational with little actions aimed at implementing them. There is inadequate funding for projects aimed at realizing the goal, most of these projects are rigid and will take several years before they are completed. Some agencies lack political goodwill in implementing the projects. Additionally, most of the plans developed to achieve going green goals are dually proposed to help statehouse achieve its goal of saving public funds. The purpose of this research study is to examine achievements of federal agencies in their efforts in realizing going green goals. The study will also examine current mechanisms put in place by the agencies in realizing going green goals and the challenges the agencies face in their efforts.
