Today, that medicine is no longer illegal. And today, communities across the country are redefining the once-illegal use of marijuana. Page 80 of the textbook outlines how caffeine and opium were once viewed much differently than they are today. Why do you think that certain drugs become taboo or more acceptable in our culture?
